WHAT ABOUT THE AIRPORT 75' 747 ? QU'EST DEVENU LE 747 EN PERIL ?

For the filming of AIRPORT 75, a real 747 was rent to AMERICAN AIRLINES company for two days by UNIVERSAL studios production.Of course the name company was changed and replaced by COLUMBIA ( by the way,an UNIVERSAL' concurrent studios )On close shots, the identification number is visible as N9675. A search on http://www.airliners.net/ leads me to the original colors jumbo. As you can notice few things were changed (note the red line changed in blue)...but to my greatest satisfaction, the main silver color remains.

With a such short delay, the planning of shots had to be very precisely prepared ! They are among the most beautiful movie shots of a flying 747 !!

A very short view of Charlton HESTON in the cockpit has been shot during these days and gives a touch of reality (all others cockpit's view of the movie were shot in studios)

For the aerial transfer sequence,a stuntman was hang for real from an helicopter in front of the 747 nose ( can you imagine the sensation !!)

This 747 flyied more classicly too for TMA of Lebanon under OD-AGM registration and ends its service as N675 UP under UPS colors before retiring.
In 2007 it was still stored in Roswell.
